Opening Prayer:

**Opening Hymn: It Is Good To Sing Thy Praises 584

** Invocation: I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens; your faithfulness extends to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.

**Call to Worship: Psalm 2

M: Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,

C: “Let us break Their bonds in pieces And cast away Their cords from us.”

M: He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision.

C: Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure:

M: “Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”

C: “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You.

M: Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.

C: You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”

M: Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth.

C: Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

M: Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little.

C: Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

Reading of the Law: Exodus 20:1-17

**Prayer of Confession: Almighty and most merciful Father; We have erred, and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us. But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou them, O God, which confess their faults. Restore thou them that are penitent; According to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and sober life. To the Glory of thy holy Name. Amen.
