Opening Prayer:

**Opening Hymn: Immortal, Invisible 25

** Invocation: I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens; your faithfulness extends to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.

**Call to Worship: 1 Peter 1:3-12

M: Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope

C: through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

M: to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

C: In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials,

M: that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

C: whom having not seen you love.

M: Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,

C: receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

M: Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched carefully, who prophesied of the grace that would come to you, searching what, or what manner of time,

C: the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.

M: To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you

C: through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things which angels desire to look into.

Reading of the Law: Exodus 20:1-17

**Prayer of Confession: Almighty and most merciful Father; We have erred, and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us. But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou them, O God, which confess their faults. Restore thou them that are penitent; According to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and sober life. To the Glory of thy holy Name. Amen.
