Opening Prayer:
**Opening Hymn: How Firm a Foundation 275
** Invocation: I will give thanks to you, O Lord, among the peoples; I will sing praises to you among the nations. For your steadfast love is as high as the heavens; your faithfulness extends to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens. Let your glory be over all the earth.
**Call to Worship: Psalm 48:1-11
M: Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in His holy mountain.
C: Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, is Mount Zion on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
M: God is in her palaces; He is known as her refuge.
C: For behold, the kings assembled, they passed by together.
M:They saw it, and so they marveled; they were troubled, they hastened away.
C: Fear took hold of them there, and pain, as of a woman in birth pangs,
M: As when You break the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
C: As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the Lord of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it forever. Selah
M: We have thought, O God, on Your lovingkindness, in the midst of Your temple.
C: According to Your name, O God, so is Your praise to the ends of the earth;
M:Your right hand is full of righteousness.
C: Let Mount Zion rejoice, Let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of Your judgments.
Reading of the Law: Exodus 20:1-17
**Prayer of Confession: Almighty and most merciful Father; We have erred, and strayed from thy ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against thy holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; And we have done those things which we ought not to have done; And there is no health in us. But thou, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare thou them, O God, which confess their faults. Restore thou them that are penitent; According to thy promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord. And grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake; That we may hereafter live a godly, righteous and sober life. To the Glory of thy holy Name. Amen.

Postlude
“The Church even now is the kingdom of Christ and the kingdom of heaven. Accordingly, even now His saints reign with Him, though otherwise than as they shall reign hereafter; and yet, though the tares grow in the Church along with the wheat, they do not reign with Him. For they reign with Him who do what the apostle says, 'If you are risen with Christ, mind the things which are above, where Christ sits at the right hand of God. Seek those things which are above, not the things which are on the earth'.” – Augustine (354-430)
“The excellence of the Church does not consist in multitude but in purity.” – John Calvin (1509-1564)
“The one true Church is composed of all believers in the Lord Jesus. It is made up of all God’s elect – of all converted men and women – of all true Christians. In whomever we can discern the election of God the Father, the sprinkling of the blood of God the Son, the sanctifying work of God the Spirit, in that person we see a member of Christ’s true church.” – J.C. Ryle (1816-1900)
